  • When you join Connected Chef for your first subscription please make sure to share any allergies and preferences when you receive the prompt “Please share anything else we should know”

  • There is no end date! We run Lifeline Groceries all year round thanks to partnerships with local restaurant purveyors and sister farms located in the Carolinas, Georgia, and Florida. For families associated and picking up at your school - you have the option to transition to a delivery during summer months!

  • YES! Everyone has full control over their own customer profile so you can pause or cancel at any time. If you are going on vacation, we recommend a pause and then you can unpause when you're back instead of having to resubscribe.

    Steps for pausing your box include:

    • Click the “Manage your profile” link at the top of our main Grocery page. This will bring you straight to your personal account.

    • Click “Manage” located under MY SUBSCRIPTIONS to change your options You will see a section labeled NEED A BREAK? Do you want to skip your next shipment(s)?

    • Select the “Pause” button

  • Pick up times vary based on your location. You will receive a confirmation email confirming your pick up times. Please note current pick up locations & times below:

    • The Connected Chef, 49-09 5th Street, LIC: 2-5pm

    • The Young Women’s Leadership School, 23-15 Newtown Ave, Astoria: 2-3pm

    • PS17/Q300 (for faculty, employees and student families): 2-3pm

    • The Renaissance Charter School (for faculty, employees and student families)): 2-3pm

  • YES! There are no fees for canceling, however you will need to cancel your box before your next renewal date to avoid being charged for your next box.

    We recommend pausing your subscription, instead of canceling if you do plan to come back at a later date.

  • You sure can!

    To change your subscription frequency:

  • You can absolutely change your add ons each week. Just be sure to do so before your weekly renewal date.

    To change your add ons:

    • Click the “Manage your profile” link at the top of our main Grocery page. This will bring you straight to your personal account.

    • Click “Manage” located under MY SUBSCRIPTIONS to change your options. You will see a sedition labeled UPDATE CHOICES Do you want to change your customizations?

    • Select “Edit” and move through the survey to change your subscription choices.

    *This will allow you to change pick up/delivery options, add ons, price tier, half box/full box, or update notes and allergies.

  • Payment is made on a weekly or biweekly basis on your subscription’s renewal date using the credit card information on file. You are also able to do one time charges if you purchase a 3 month or 6 month subscription. These longer term subscriptions do not get renewed automatically after they are completed so you will need to buy into them again.

    We are also working on accepting SNAP benefits and our website will be updated as soon as we can.

  • The administration fee is used to pay for labor, operations, any rentals, supplies for the distribution site, other fees such as the cost of banking and other unforeseen expenses associated with packing and distribution of Lifeline Groceries.

  • We need a minimum of 5 working days to download your order once submitted, order fresh produce and any add-ons, pick, pack and deliver it.

    Customers have until Sunday evenings (before 9pm EST) to place their add-ons for the order that gets delivered the following Friday.

    All orders get downloaded from our platform on Monday morning and shared with our operations team so they can begin ordering.

    Any new orders that get placed after that Monday fall into the following Friday (12 days out).

    • Delivery to your home ($6 additional fee)

    • Pick Up from our community center or one of our partners ($2 dollar administration fee):

  • Connected Chef has relationships with various local farms within the tristate area as well as local New York businesses for add-ons. We share the farms we are working with on a weekly basis in our newsletter to our members.

  • While many of the farms we partner with use organic farming practices, we do not work with farms that are certified organic according to the USDA. The process to organic certification can be resource and cost prohibitive and incredibly daunting. We work with many farmers that plant diverse crops to not only serve the diversity reflected in our customers but to preserve the health of the soil. When it comes to the organic certification process, the more diverse the crop, the more complicated the paperwork. We ensure the quality of the fruits, vegetables, legumes, and grains you’ll receive.
